Are Your Thoughts Bullying You?

I’ve been thinking a lot about…well, thinking. And I don’t know about you, but my thoughts can sometimes (okay, often) get the best of me. Maybe you don’t have this issue. (If that’s the case, pleeeeease tell me your secret!)

Here’s the thing…

Your brain produces thoughts, because that’s what brains do. But that doesn’t mean the thoughts are true.

“Ugh, I’m so stupid.”

That is a thought. It is just a thought.

So what if we make one little tweak when we have thoughts like that?

Watch this…

What if, when we have the thought “I am stupid,” instead of automatically believing the thought and accepting it as truth, we reframe the thought?

What if we say, “I am having the thought that I am stupid.”

Now, you get to choose. Now YOU are in control.

You are not the thought. You are simply having the thought.

You can even talk back to that thought.

“I am having the thought that I am stupid, but that’s not the truth. I am smart and capable.”

Just because you have a thought, doesn’t mean it’s true.

👉Challenge the assumption that 100% of your thoughts are true.

Your brain produces thoughts because that’s what brains do.

That doesn’t mean they are all true.

Think them. Notice them. And then choose which ones you WANT to believe and accept as true.

I’d love to hear from you. Do you struggle with this? Is your inner critic always yelling at you? Do you have a hard time discerning what is true and what is just your brain being mean to you? Have you found anything that helps you challenge those thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!

Now it's your turn...I want to hear from you!
